The Chairmans Lady Charity
My chosen charity this year, is
Frhens. Our group for women, meet every Wednesday morning and provides
support wherever and whenever it is needed.
The group meet for
coffee and cake, and every week have a different craft, an event or
a challenge. The main aim of the group however, is to support women
from very different backgrounds; many experience mental health
difficulties, often domestic violence, but all too often just simple
loneliness, isolation or bereavement. Through support, friendship
and understanding, we empower women to strive towards being valued
in society, to feel more confident about themselves and to give them
chances and skills.
The group is free of charge, so to ensure no
barriers to those who join us, but as you can imagine, the craft and
materials for such a large and growing group of ladies, is costly to
provide.
Any funding we raise will enable the group to grow and offer
more women the opportunities to a fulfilled life, often moving on to
work and enabling them to feel fabulous about themselves.
